We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation and possess a strong understanding of legal procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal Conduct initial case assessments and gather relevant information from clients and insurance carriers Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses Manage and organize case files, both electronic and physical Prepare and maintain litigation calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met Conduct legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations Assist in the preparation of deposition summaries and trial exhibits Coordinate with expert witnesses and manage their involvement in cases Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel Attend court hearings and assist attorneys during trials when necessary Maintain accurate billing records and assist with invoice preparation Required: 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in insurance defense litigation Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred) Paralegal certification from an ABA-approved program Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and insurance defense practices Excellent written and verbal communication skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with case management software Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred: Experience with e-discovery platforms and tools Familiarity with state and federal court filing systems Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to review medical records Experience in multiple areas of insurance defense (e.g., personal injury, property damage, professional liability)
