The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan, charged with advancing his legacy and principles – limited government, individual liberty, economic opportunity, freedom and democracy, peace through strength, and national pride. RRPFI is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion and the award-winning Reagan Leadership Academy, and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C.
The Reagan Library houses over 60 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential, and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Duties and Responsibilities
The Reagan Institute seeks a seasonal (6 months) full-time team member to perform a wide range of functions in support of its Center for Peace Through Strength (CPTS). This Program Assistant will support major events such as the Reagan National Defense Forum (RNDF) and the National Security Innovation Base (NSIB) Summit, as well as the day to day needs of the Policy Director and Programs Team. They will be responsible for assisting with database organization, logistical and operational support of event planning, correspondence, and general administrative functions. The candidate will be expected to perform such specific duties and responsibilities as are related to this position below and any additional duties hereafter assigned:
Administrative functions such as database management, preparation and execution of letters and email communications, meeting scheduling, and more.
Maintain the RNDF and NSIB Summit databases with accuracy, given updates to VIP participation and guest attendance.
Scheduling of meetings and calls with various stakeholders.
Correspondence and follow-up communication with conference attendees and VIPs.
Special projects, i.e. contributing to research efforts, staffing and supporting other Reagan Institute events, and other duties as assigned.
Coordinating with other Foundation and Institute departments and counterparts as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Passion for foreign and defense policy as well as President Reagan’s legacy.
Exceptional attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Experience and ability to work independently and collegially in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel to and work in California during the week of Dec.1-6, 2025.
Experience working in an office environment.
Experience with database management and Microsoft Suite.
Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed preferred.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Uncompromising personal integrity.
Salary/Benefits and Work Location
This is a non-exempt, seasonal position concluding 6 months after the initial start date
This position is located at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Institute in Washington, DC.
This position will be compensated on a per-hour basis commensurate with experience and will be eligible for overtime.
This position offers sick time based on hours accrued per pay period and years of service.
