Responsibilities will include the following: Prioritize, plan, design and execute portfolio transformation to accelerate growth through acquisitions, partnerships and divestitures
Source, evaluate, and execute M&A transactions as well as strategic partnerships, including identifying targets, conducting due diligence, and negotiating deal terms
Build and maintain relationships with potential targets and key stakeholders (investment banks, venture and PE firms, etc,)
Collaborate with business units to construct analysis for inorganic deals, including development of business cases to support investment decisions and other documentation to support investment decisions
Analyze financial statements, projections, and key performance indicators to inform decision making
Prepare and manage legal and transaction documents, such as NDAs, letters of intent, and purchase agreements in collaboration with Legal teams
Lead cross-functional teams through comprehensive due diligence process and support post-acquisition integration planning in partnership with integration management office
Ensure compliance with internal procedures throughout the deal process
Track and report on the progress of corporate development projects
Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including market expansion in core and adjacency areas in partnership with businesses
Monitor market trends, competitive activities and emerging technologies to identify industry risks/opportunities, define competitive advantage and inform strategic decisions
Be a thought-partner with businesses to define and resource business-specific growth strategy
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher from (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and Ten (10) years of experience in business development.
10 years of experience in the healthcare sector, preferably MedTech experience especially in the dental or health information systems (HIS) fields
Experience presenting to Senior Management
Experience with deal structuring, valuations, modeling, robust diligence planning and contract negotiations
Experience preparing businesses for divestiture
Demonstrated ability to lead large cross-functional team
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Track record of closing transactions, especially in MedTech
Experience with market landscaping and sourcing targets, including relationship management of targets
Excellent communication, negotiation and project management capabilities
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Experience with CRM tools to maintain robust target pipeline
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to tap into a network of MedTech executives, bankers, VC funds and other MedTech leaders to source deals
