Job Brief
As a Director of National Contracts, you will be a vital part of the Sales & Marketing Team, contributing to all facets of hospital contracts, product approval processes, and strategic distributor partnerships. Your role will encompass the vetting of market opportunities, developing strategies, negotiating contracts, and implementing agreements.
Working alongside our Team of Vice Presidents of Sales, you will participate in the competitive bid process while utilizing effective negotiation skills. You will manage a combination of acute and non-acute agreements for Astura Medical, an industry-leading spine implants manufacturer, ultimately to ensure we provide surgeons with their preferred products.
Responsibilities
Support the Sales Force in all aspects of the day-to-day functions.
Manage contract lifecycle, ensuring timely execution and compliance.
Draft and negotiate complex contract agreement terms and conditions for new contracts, renewals, amendments, and addenda.
Act as a resource for current and prospective distributors, hospital customers, and regional vice presidents.
Monitor contract compliance, e.g., purchase order and invoice discrepancies.
Aid in the management of ERP item master data and resulting pricing updates.
Develop and refine standard operating procedures, work instructions, and relevant templates.
Complete tasks assigned by executive team members, e.g., CEO, Vice President, VP Sales, etc.
Champion the identification and implementation of operational processes, initiatives, and goals to drive efficiency and achieve strategic objectives.
Cultivate synergy and collaboration across multiple business units to align efforts and achieve shared goals.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with Sales Force, Distributor Teams, Internal/External Stakeholders, and Senior Leadership to maximize delivered value.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
MS Word (redline/blackline agreements)
PowerPoint (executive summaries)
Adobe DC Pro (document development and conversion)
Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Financial Analysis, etc.)
Outlook (email communication)

Industry Knowledge:
Experience in Human Anatomy, Pricing Formularies, Contract Law, Medical Devices, Government & Private Sector Hospital or Ambulatory Surgery Centers Value Analysis Processes/Platforms.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Experience:
7+ years in Strategic Sourcing, Healthcare Supply Chain, GPO, or Medical Device Contracting highly preferred. Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and the delivery of measurable outcomes in a healthcare setting preferred. Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Strong relationship-building, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with legal and business partners to address complex contractual and operational challenges. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with expertise in simplifying complex information.
