Job Position: Director of Software Engineering Salary Range: $185k - $200k annually + 50% Bonus + Equity (Total comp 300,000+) Culture Fit: Candidates will be part of the engineering sprint (60–70 hours/week, 6 days onsite first 9 months). Working at successful or multiple startups is a plus, but more importantly, it has the startup mentality, run lean & mean, bootstrap attitude (get the job done by using existing resources). About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead a highly skilled engineering team and drive our company’s continued success in the fast-paced and dynamic field of software development. This role will focus on maintaining our fast-paced delivery cycle and scaling our engineering efforts as we expand into new industries. We’re looking for a hands-on, technically proficient leader who excels at balancing strategic oversight with direct technical involvement. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation, working with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of key products while maintaining the highest standards for production quality and uptime. Key Responsibilities: Drive Innovation and Speed: Lead and motivate the engineering team to accelerate product and feature development, pushing the boundaries of innovation and continuously improving delivery speed. Engineering Leadership: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging company values to create a world-class, differentiated engineering team that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Team Development: Provide coaching and mentorship to engineers, promoting professional growth and encouraging challenges that drive individual and team success. Production Uptime & Quality: Oversee system uptime, performance, and security to ensure top-tier product quality. Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute the overall engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs and goals. Qualifications: 4+ years in a software engineering leadership role. 8+ years of experience as a software engineer. High emotional intelligence (EQ), a collaborative mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing technical and business needs. A hands-on leader who can dive into technical details and maintain a strategic vision. BS/BA in Computer Science or related field (or comparable experience). Preferred Skills: Experience in cloud-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise-level software deployment. Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS. Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
