Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, calculating, and optimizing radiation treatment plans in collaboration with radiation oncologists and medical physicists. Your role is essential in ensuring that patients receive safe and effective radiation therapy with minimal impact on surrounding healthy tissue.
Key Responsibilities
Design and generate optimal treatment plans using 3D/IMRT/VMAT/SBRT/SRS planning techniques and software. Calculate and verify radiation doses for accurate delivery as prescribed by radiation oncologists. Assist with tumor localization and simulation procedures using CT, MRI, or PET imaging. Perform quality assurance checks on treatment plans and equipment. Communicate clearly with the clinical team, including radiation oncologists, physicists, and therapists, to implement plans. Maintain accurate and detailed records for patient treatments and dosimetry processes. Adhere to institutional, regulatory, and safety protocols regarding radiation exposure. Participate in research, continuing education, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Physics, or a related science. Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or eligibility to sit for the MDCB exam. 2+ years of experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting preferred. Proficiency with treatment planning systems (e.g., Eclipse, RayStation, Pinnacle). Solid understanding of radiation physics, anatomy, and medical imaging. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Detail-oriented with a high level of precision and safety awareness.
