LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Modern Languages Department offers American Sign Language (ASL) courses at the beginning and intermediate levels. Courses offered in the American Sign Language program include ASL 121, ASL 122, and ASL 123.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in American Sign Language, ASL linguistics, deaf studies, deaf education, or sign language interpretation/translation.
- College or university teaching experience.
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- College teaching experience.
- Ability to work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in a classroom that requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a computer in the work environment.
COMPENSATION: In accordance with the Negotiated Agreement between the Washington Community College District and Edmonds College Federation of Teachers. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $5,865.82.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
- Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted.
- All new positions are contingent upon funding.
- Edmonds College does not sponsor H1-B Visas.
