Join our dedicated team as an Emergency Medical Technician, responsible for delivering high-quality pre-hospital basic life support care to the sick and injured. Your role includes timely and efficient transportation of patients in accordance with established local, state, national, and company standards. EQUIPMENT: As an EMT, you'll work with a variety of essential equipment, including ambulances, stretchers, spinal immobilization gear, radios, suction devices, oxygen delivery systems, and more. Staying organized and prepared is key to ensuring patient safety and care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your primary functions will include: Conducting thorough examinations of patients, identifying signs of injury or illness, and supporting medical personnel. Administering effective basic life support care within your licensure limits according to approved protocols. Safely transporting patients to medical facilities and ensuring a smooth handover to receiving personnel. Meticulously documenting patient conditions, treatments, and required forms in EMS run reports. Regularly inspecting and maintaining all assigned equipment to ensure optimal functioning. Driving and operating ambulances with a focus on safety and compliance with driving guidelines. Participating in ongoing training and precepting new EMT-Basic students when approved. Performing additional responsibilities as assigned to support our emergency response efforts. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This role involves various physical activities including: Lifting patients and equipment, navigating through diverse environments, and utilizing specialized medical equipment. Regularly engaging in activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and climbing. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Be prepared for dynamic conditions, including responding to emergencies in outdoor settings and handling hazardous materials or electrical emergencies. QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess: A high school diploma or GED. National or state certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic. Current CPR certification aligned with American Heart Association guidelines. A valid driver's license as required. Strong communication skills and the ability to document effectively.
