Overview
Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation's largest gun violence prevention advocacy group, seeks a motivated Data Analyst Intern to work with the Data team to track key metrics, build dashboards, and perform analysis of our supporters and campaigns. This is an ideal opportunity for an undergraduate student who wants to expand their analytics skill set and gain real-world experience in the gun violence prevention movement and nonprofit/advocacy sector.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in creating, analyzing and trending metrics to measure success of programs and campaigns
- Perform ad-hoc analysis of the behavior and engagement of our grassroots supporters and donors
- Conduct data cleaning and quality assurance on existing data sets and code
- Document technical processes to aid in team's knowledge sharing
- Assist in administrative tasks such as ticket management
- Communicate findings with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Current college students encouraged to apply
- Experience working with spreadsheets for analysis
- Quantitative thinking skills and a good eye for numbers
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills in presenting work to a non-technical audience
- Interest in nonprofit advocacy organizations
- Ability to query and analyze data in SQL
- Experience using Python/R for statistical analysis
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker
This is a paid internship. The rate will be a minimum of $17 p/hr.
