Overview
This role will recruit top talent for our manufacturing operations. In addition, it will involve managing the onboarding process for new hires and providing payroll backup support. This role will contribute to the seamless integration of new employees and ensure that payroll operations run efficiently within our pharmaceutical company. This is a full-time, onsite role and will report to the Talent Acquisition Manager.
Job Responsibilities
- Recruiting:
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies for manufacturing roles.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for positions across manufacturing and production departments (e.g., operators, technicians, supervisors).
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for ongoing and future hiring needs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company-specific hiring policies, including EEO and affirmative action requirements.
- Utilize job boards, social media, recruitment agencies, and networking events to attract candidates.
- Onboarding:
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
- Coordinate orientation sessions (including conducting New Employee Orientation), ensuring that new hires are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training to succeed in their roles.
- Verify and process new hire documentation, including background checks, drug testing, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to ensure equipment, workspace, and access are prepared for new employees.
- Payroll Backup:
- Provide support to the payroll team in processing employee timesheets, attendance records, and any payroll-related queries.
- Assist in the review and validation of timekeeping data for accuracy.
- Act as a backup to the payroll administrator, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing in the event of absence or increased workload.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with payroll-related regulations, including those specific to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Support the HR department in addressing payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Additional HR Support:
- Participate in employee engagement and retention initiatives for manufacturing teams.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of job descriptions, job postings, and HR documentation for compliance purposes.
- Ensure smooth communication and interaction between departments regarding staffing, onboarding, and payroll processes.
- Support ad-hoc HR projects as needed, such as employee training or performance reviews.
- 2-3 years of recruiting experience, preferably in manufacturing or a similar environment (pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with onboarding processes and payroll systems (ADP, Kronos, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing job roles and the skills required for success in those positions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR software.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations (GxP, FDA, etc.) and compliance standards is preferred.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and work on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required for filing and materials management.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
