Position Overview
The position of Line Cook, prepares and cooks menu items at a specific station in a kitchen, following recipes and ensuring quality and timely service, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace
Core Responsibilities: Preparation: Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and seasoning. Set up and stock the station with necessary supplies. Follow recipes and presentation standards for dishes.
Cooking: Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods. Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner. Maintain quality control and ensure dishes meet standards.
Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures. Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces and equipment.
Other: Assist with inventory checks and food storage. Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to coordinate timing and updates. May assist with plating dishes. May assist with catering events as needed. May be responsible for portion control and minimizing waste.
REQUIREMENTS
Communication Skills: Able to clearly communicate with customers and team members. Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes and procedures accurately. Speed and Efficiency: Able to work quickly and efficiently during peak hours. Physical Stamina: Able to stand and move around for extended periods. Knowledge of Culinary Skills: Proficiency in basic cooking techniques (grilling, frying, sauteing, etc.) Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other cooks and staff members. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
