Overview
The South Whidbey Schools Foundation (SWSF) is seeking a volunteer treasurer for the 2025-26 school year and beyond. SWSF, formed in 1995, funds grants for South Whidbey Elementary, Middle and High School for projects outside the scope of the school district budget. We have an active, collaborative and diverse board, from parents of young children to retirees and meet once a month on Saturday mornings.
The mission of the South Whidbey Schools Foundation is to ignite a love of learning. Our vision is to build relationships between our community and schools to invest in learning experiences that inspire students in our ever-changing world. This year, we've funded grants for sewing machines at the high school, an iFly experience for middle school special ed students, a trip to see Hamilton for the entire 8th grade and water quality testing equipment for ALE students in 1st through 8th grade to name just a few!
This position requires a time commitment of approximately 3-4 hours per week. Responsibilities include:
- Check SWSF P.O. Box regularly and deposit checks
- Manage banking transactions and bookkeeping in Quickbooks
- Prepare monthly financial reports for board meetings
- Cut and deliver checks for grants
- Manage funds for pass-through accounts
- File taxes and reports with WA Secretary of State
- Support annual fundraising gala (track auction items, manage registration and payments, etc.)
