Sports Medicine Opportunity in Metro Birmingham, Alabama

• Existing single specialty group with 5 physicians
• This physician will replace a retiring doctor
• Seeking Sports Medicine Fellowship Trained Family Medicine Physician
• Recruiting support from Hospital
• Pathway to partnership
• BC/BE in Sports Medicine Family Medicine
• Open to experienced physicians or new graduates
• Not willing to sponsor a visa

Practice Details

Established practice since 1983 with a 36-year-old patient base

• 4-5 exam rooms
• Pre-certification handled by I coordinator, shared personnel
• Use of Hospitalists
• Block scheduling
• Average of 20 patients per day; full days can see up to 50 patients

Work Environment

EMR: Meditouch Health Fusion

Ancillaries: X-ray, injections, PT, DME

Patient mix: 35% Medicare, 35% Blue Cross, minimal Medicaid (via ER), Workers compensation

Schedule

Monday to Thursday: 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Fridays close at noon

Call Schedule

Group call is 1:3; non-surgical physicians do not take call, mostly phone calls, ER admits at night, see patients next day

Requirements

BC/BE in Sports Medicine Family Medicine
