Full job description:

Akshar Logistics, Inc. is looking for a FedEx BC (Operations Manager) near the FedEx Ground Terminal in the Palmetto, FL 34221 area!

This position oversees and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of FedEx package delivery services. The manager will have a strong daily presence at the terminal to ensure smooth operations and maintain strong, positive working relationships with all FedEx employees.

This role requires the ability to effectively lead a team of drivers and manage up to 18+ package delivery routes from a single terminal in varying territories near the Sarasota Bay area. The right candidate will be adaptable with a strong work ethic and a business ownership mentality.

Manager Expectations:

1. Maintain efficient delivery routes in DRO (Dynamic Route Optimization).
2. Create and assign routes in DRO every night for next-day execution.
3. Optimize routes while maintaining minimum daily stop thresholds.
4. Manage driver rosters, including hiring and training new drivers (Certified Trainer qualification preferred).
5. Assign and manage pickups.
6. Coordinate and schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs to avoid breakdowns.
7. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the route codes used by FedEx to guide drivers daily.
8. Maintain complete vehicle maintenance logs, including scheduling, inspection stickers, and cleanliness.
9. Ensure driver compliance with paperwork, Hours of Service (HOS), and Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspections.
10. Promote a safety-first culture and ensure drivers complete all required training.
11. Attend and participate in daily terminal meetings with Terminal Managers.
12. Provide daily guidance to drivers using FedEx route codes.
13. Meet FedEx service level requirements consistently.
14. Perform sweeps and assist the team as needed.
15. Communicate with FedEx Ground staff as required.
16. Maintain a professional work ethic and demonstrate reliability.
17. Pass background check, drug test, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean motor vehicle record.

Previous experience with FedEx is strongly preferred; experience with UPS, Amazon, or other logistics providers is a plus. Candidates with a military background are encouraged to apply.
