Job Summary

The goal of this role is to maintain a building's cleanliness and neatness at all times. This description provides a general guide to the duties and responsibilities involved in effectively servicing a building. Staff will be expected to perform tasks that uphold the highest standards of cleanliness across all buildings and work sites serviced by Flagship.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors using industrial equipment.
• Uses ladders, dusts, washes walls, cleans ceilings, and polishes fixtures. Washes and replaces blinds.
• Moves furniture, cabinets, and equipment for cleaning.
• Removes stains with chemicals, sweeps walkways, rakes leaves, and performs seasonal tasks like snow removal.
• Applies and removes protective coatings on surfaces.

Specific Areas

• Carpeted Areas: Empties waste baskets, dusts furniture, vacuums carpets, and cleans spots.
• Lunchroom/Break Areas: Empties waste, cleans tables, appliances, sinks, and mops floors.
• Restrooms: Empties waste, sanitizes fixtures, disinfects floors, and refills dispensers.
• Non-Carpeted Areas: Empties waste, mops floors, and cleans surfaces.

Periodic Tasks

• Dusts vents, blinds, and high surfaces; polishes furniture; cleans interior glass.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintains a tidy janitor's closet and properly maintains equipment.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic janitorial knowledge preferred.
• Good communication skills; some roles require English proficiency.
• Neat appearance and adherence to uniform policies.
• Attends training and safety meetings.
• Understands client needs and demonstrates punctuality.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 6 months of janitorial experience in commercial facilities preferred.

Work Environment

• Office and shop environments with moderate noise levels.
• Exposed to dust, odors, fumes, cleaning products, and noise.

Physical Demands

Requires standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Reasonable accommodations under the ADA are available.
