Job Description Grace Family Vineyards is a small, ultra-premium winery in St Helena, CA. Founded in 1983, Grace Family has a cult following for its small single vineyard designates. We are seeking an experienced intern with strong cellar skills and attention to detail to join our very small, close-knit production team. This position will engage in preparing the winery for harvest, vineyard sampling and maturity panels, as well as all winery operations during harvest.
Qualifications: - Self-starter with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Prior cellar work experience and a demonstrated commitment to exacting standards of cellar craft. - Prior vineyard sampling a plus, but not required. - Versatility in cellar duties. - Good time management skills, ability to prioritize and adapt to changing workflows. - Collaborative, curious and open to learning and engaging with others. - Pride in quality of work, eye for detail, desire to better surroundings. - Forklift experience
Job Description: - Work closely with the winemaker and lead harvest intern to conduct non-harvest cellar tasks such as topping, sampling, barrel maintenance, and routine winery sanitation. - Assist with harvest preparations - cleaning and organizing equipment and cellar space, moving equipment from storage to the winery, cleaning and staging lug boxes and macro bins. - Perform day to day harvest cellar operations, including sampling and testing, sanitizing tanks and equipment, sorting fruit to fermentation vessels, punchdowns and pumpovers, monitoring fermentations, maintaining, preparing and filling barrels, conducting drains and presses. - Work independently to maintain cleanliness and operation of cellar and cellar equipment.
Other Details: - Intern must have a dependable car. - Mileage reimbursement - The position will begin in early August and extend through early December 2025, depending on the timing of harvest.
