Job Title: Completion Engineering Advisor
Location: Houston, Texas
Type of Role: Contract
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our team is currently looking for a Completion Engineering Advisor for a client in the Oil and Gas industry.
The Completion Engineering Advisor reports to the Gulf of Mexico Completion Engineering Manager. The primary responsibility is to lead the well delivery process for completion design, engineering, and planning of deepwater development wells.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Work with subsurface team to develop the statement of requirements (SOR) for new wells
- Completion equipment selection, qualification, and testing
- Prepare time and cost estimates in accordance with Hess standards
- Evaluate SOR to create a Basis of Design (BOD) to meet well requirements
- Engage well construction SME(s) and service partners to ensure well design integrity/feasibility
- Utilize peer review process to ensure formal feedback is included in the design maturation process
- Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities associated with completion designs and operations for all WDX phases
- Develop well programs within the Standards, EHS Management System, and the governing regulatory and permit requirements
- Achieve continuous improvement by capturing and incorporating best practices and lessons learned throughout the WDX process from both internal and external resources
- Present required deliverables through stage reviews for well assurance throughout WDX
- Provide mentoring to staff engineers
- Actively participate in and contribute to Hess engineering networks and industry committees
- Utilize innovation and new technologies to improve well delivery, reliability, and value
- Provide guidance and support as wells are completed to ensure adherence to BOD, standards,
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10 years of completion engineering experience with demonstrated technical ability and a proven record of delivering wells
- Deepwater Gulf of Mexico completion engineering design, planning, and operations experience
- Commitment to the health and safety of our workforce and the environment.
- Experience analysing problems and identifying practical solutions
- Communication: Ability to deliver and facilitate technical presentations and documentation
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively and constructively with other technical functions, field personnel, and service partners at all levels
- Self-starter with a hard-working approach and can-do attitude – motivated and resourceful individual
- Strong desire to deliver technical excellence commensurate with business needs
- Proficient in probabilistic cost estimating and related software
- Experience with BSEE regulatory APM submittal
- Well site operations experience
- Experience with lean manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with design elements including sand control, single trip multizone and conventional systems, intelligent wells, gas lift, workover/interventions, and subsea vertical tree systems
- Experience with Landmark well design and planning software suite including WellCat
