The HR Generalist provides essential support across a broad range of Human Resources functions within a dynamic healthcare setting. This role partners with leaders and staff to support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, compliance, and HR operations. With an emphasis on integrity, service, and efficiency, the HR Generalist helps maintain a positive workplace culture and ensures accuracy and compliance across all HR processes, including data management in Workday. Responsibilities Collaborate with HR leadership to execute the organizations people strategy, with a focus on talent acquisition, retention, engagement, and performance management. Partner with department leaders to understand operational goals and provide aligned HR support. Foster strong working relationships by promptly addressing employee relations issues with professionalism, thorough documentation, and follow-up. Provide guidance on complex HR issues including accommodations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations. Respond to inquiries regarding benefits, compensation, and general HR policies. Communicate HR policies and compliance requirements clearly to promote understanding and adherence. Identify individual and team training needs; recommend and support appropriate development opportunities. Manage leave of absence processes, including FMLA administration and ADA accommodations. Support a positive workplace culture by promoting morale, enhancing relationships, and supporting retention efforts. Coordinate employee engagement initiatives including onboarding, offboarding, engagement surveys, and action planning. Monitor and document compliance with mandatory and voluntary training, licensure, continuing education, and certifications (e.g., safety, anti-harassment). Manage recruitment activities including job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring in partnership with departmental managers. Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues appropriately. Participate in employee investigations, disciplinary meetings, and termination procedures.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws; proactively review and recommend updates to policies and practices. Stay current on emerging trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in HR, talent management, and employment law Perform other duties and contribute to special projects as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in HR, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred. 24 years of HR experience; healthcare experience strongly preferred. Experience with Workday or similar HRIS required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Working knowledge of federal/state labor laws and healthcare compliance.
