POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead and mentor a team of engineers in the preparation, organization, and submission of drawings for transportation and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure design, including roadways, utilities, drainage, structures, and stormwater management systems. The Senior Civil Engineer will attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish project requirements and discuss design concepts. This role requires advanced training and professional experience in civil engineering, with extensive proficiency in OpenRoads and MicroStation software. The selected candidate will manage the development of contract documents and ensure adherence to quality control procedures throughout the plan development process. Additionally, they will be responsible for ensuring projects stay within budget and schedule while adhering to scope requirements. The Senior Civil Engineer will independently manage and lead projects in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area, ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements. They will also actively participate in business development and project pursuits, contributing to the firm’s growth. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with advanced training and professional experience 8+ years of post-education experience delivering technical engineering services for infrastructure projects Extensive experience in infrastructure design, including roadway, utility, drainage, and stormwater management systems Advanced proficiency in OpenRoads and MicroStation software Professional Engineer (PE) certification In-depth knowledge of transportation-related infrastructure design in highly urban settings, including roadways, streetscapes, stormwater systems, and erosion and sediment control Familiarity with departments of transportation procedures and industry regulations Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients via phone, email, and in-person Seniority level
