The Director of Development at Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center is responsible for planning and executing fundraising events, securing foundation grants, and supporting marketing and public relations initiatives. This role plays a critical part in increasing donor engagement, expanding community partnerships, and raising awareness of the organization's impact.
Job Description
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred) in nonprofit management, communications, business, public administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, event planning, or donor engagement. Proven success in leading fundraising events and securing event sponsorships. Experience in foundation grant writing and compliance management. Maintain valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations). Role and Responsibilities
FUNDRAISING EVENTS & DONOR ENGAGEMENT
Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all fundraising events, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and mission-driven objectives. Develop strategies to increase event sponsorships and donor participation. Work closely with the Community Engagement Specialist to enhance donor recognition and retention efforts. Oversee event logistics, including budgeting, vendor coordination, marketing, and post-event analysis. Identify and implement innovative event fundraising strategies to maximize impact. Develop and execute multi-channel annual and donor appeals, including direct mail, email, and social media campaigns.
INDIVIDUAL GIVING & DONOR STEWARDSHIP
Develop and implement strategies to cultivate and retain individual donors at all giving levels. Create and manage a donor stewardship plan to ensure meaningful engagement with existing and prospective supporters. Oversee donor recognition initiatives to express appreciation and encourage ongoing support. Manage a donor database (e.g., CRM) to track giving history, engagement, and solicitation efforts. Analyze donor trends and engagement metrics to inform fundraising strategies. GRANT COMPLIANCE & FOUNDATION GRANTS
Research and assist in securing foundation and corporate grants, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Ensure compliance with grant requirements, including accurate financial and programmatic reporting. Work closely with the Grant Administrator to monitor grant deliverables and deadlines. MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS SUPPORT
Support the Outreach Department in all marketing and public relations initiatives to increase visibility and donor engagement. Raise awareness of the impact of gifts to the agency and promote giving vehicles through internal and external publications, advertising, feature articles, and other marketing materials. Collaborate with the leadership team to develop donor-centric messaging and storytelling that highlights the organization's mission and impact. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & PARTNERSHIPS
Work with the
Community Engagement Specialist
to establish and strengthen partnerships with community organizations and corporate sponsors. Implement digital outreach strategies to increase awareness of Hope & Healing's mission and funding opportunities. Assist in donor stewardship efforts, ensuring meaningful engagement with existing and prospective supporters. LEADERSHIP & COLLABORATION
Supervise and support the Grant Administrator and Community Engagement Specialist, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Work closely with the Chief Development Officer to develop and implement a long-term development strategy that sustains and grows revenue. Partner with program leadership to align fundraising initiatives with service delivery needs. Stay current on trends in philanthropy and nonprofit development to ensure best practices are implemented. Adheres to Service Excellence standards at all times Represent Hope & Healing agencies, Battered Women's Shelter and Rape Crisis Center, by participating in community activities, coalitions and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor. Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work hours will be required. This position has a flexible schedule for the purposes of meeting the responsibilities of the role. Benefits:
