Manufacturing Operations Manager (Hands-On Role) Location:
Sumterville, FL Employment Type:
Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am - 4:30pm
Compensation: $75,000 - 95,000 + bonus eligibility
About the Role: We are seeking a
hands-on, driven, and well-rounded Operations Manager
to join our manufacturing team in Sumterville, FL. This is not a desk job. This is a
boots-on-the-ground leadership role
where you’ll work side-by-side with the Plant Manager and directly impact the day-to-day operations of a complex, fast-paced environment.
We’re not looking for a high-level executive—we’re looking for someone who thrives in the mix, understands the full scope of operations, and is ready to roll up their sleeves to make things better. What You’ll Do:
Spend at least 50% of your time on the production floor, working closely with leads and hourly supervisors.
Collaborate directly with the Plant Manager to identify and implement process improvements.
Lead and mentor frontline leaders, helping them grow and succeed.
Manage production schedules, capacity planning, and shop floor flow.
Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure smooth operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and champion 5S and Lean practices.
Support cross-functional collaboration with Quality, HR, and other departments.
Use your business acumen to make informed decisions that improve efficiency and output.
What You Bring:
5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a hands-on leadership role.
Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
Experience in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to lead by example and earn the respect of the team through action.
Solid business sense—while you won’t own the P&L, you’ll need to understand how operations impact the bottom line.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for solving problems.
Manufacturing experience is ; welding knowledge is a plus but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in industrial management, business, or a related field is .
