Position Summary The Business Systems Analyst 2 is responsible for comprehensive financial and HR data analysis and reporting, business systems design, development, and integration, as well as project management. This role demands a strategic approach to evaluating business processes and systems, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring the alignment of technology and operations with the School of Medicine's objectives. The position reports to the Associate Dean & CFO of the School of Medicine Finance and Business Office and requires independent decision-making and leadership within projects and team efforts.
Duties include preparing and analyzing data inquiries and reporting requirements needed for operational and business decisions; creating reports to monitor compliance and regulatory requirements; developing and analyzing requirements for annual financial accreditation report; leading projects to test and implement new business processes; developing and providing communication to department business managers, chairs, and SOM executive leadership; serving as technical expert/liaison to main campus and UNC Healthcare entities regarding development and implementation of administrative and financial systems; and providing financial management, business and operations consulting, and financial and strategic planning.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Master's and 1-2 years' experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Extensive experience with UNC systems and financial practices. Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced analytics tools. Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
