Job Overview This role involves providing independent, value-added internal audit services, assessing the effectiveness of governance, compliance, risk management, and internal control systems, and conducting comprehensive evaluations of information systems and IT controls.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Test and evaluate IT General Controls.
Understand or have working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts such as Security Operations, Security Engineering, Identity and Access Management.
Understand or have working knowledge of Network Security concepts and tools, including Network Access Controls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention, and Network Penetration Testing.
Familiarity with information security controls, infrastructure technology, cybersecurity tools, and related risks.
Knowledge of technology infrastructure concepts like Active Directory, Operating Systems, and Data Centers.
Lead all phases of assigned projects, from planning to reporting, ensuring understanding of technologies, risks, controls, and testing procedures.
Manage project milestones and ensure timely completion of work.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing sound recommendations and supporting audit conclusions.
Utilize data analysis tools and practices to facilitate audit processes and guide staff in data analytics techniques.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of core IT processes and controls, with the ability to advise on technology controls.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields and relevant technology experience; insurance industry experience preferred.
4-6 years of audit or data analytics experience, with a preference for property casualty insurance.
Proficiency in data analytics and audit analytics tools.
Knowledge of IT auditing standards and control frameworks such as IIA, COBIT, NIST Cyber, CSC, ISO2700x.
CISA and/or CISSP certifications required; other certifications are a plus.
