Improvix Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
to join our growing team in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge federal security program and provide expertise to improve and mature the organization's security posture. The ISSO will play a pivotal role as a senior advisor, assisting the Chief of Security and the overall security team in achieving critical program objectives.
Key Responsibilities Program Support : Oversee information assurance programs for systems, enclaves, or organizations. Implement, coordinate, and enforce information systems security policies and standards.
Security Operations : Maintain the operational security posture for information systems. Conduct day-to-day security operations, ensuring compliance with policies and standards. Manage security aspects of systems, including changes and their security impact.
Risk Assessment and Compliance : Perform vulnerability and risk assessments to support certification and accreditation processes. Prepare and review documentation, such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs). Support security authorization activities in compliance with NIST, FEDRAMP, and other federal policies.
Continuous Monitoring and Tools : Coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs. Monitor security systems, identify weaknesses, and propose effective solutions.
Collaboration and Advising : Provide guidance to users on security measures and potential threats. Support the ISSO with tasks such as ATO, FISMA compliance, POAM development, and deliverables. Research and implement best practices and security standards to enhance cybersecurity.
Qualifications
Education & Clearance : Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Minimum Secret clearance, with eligibility for Top Secret clearance.
Experience : At least 5 years of experience in the cybersecurity field. Demonstrated ability to perform risk assessments, maintain security postures, and manage compliance deliverables.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in implementing NIST, FEDRAMP, and other federal security policies. Experience with configuration management of security software, hardware, and firmware.
Certifications
(preferred): CISSP, CISA, CCSP, GSEC, CEH, or CISM.
Soft Skills : Strong communication and critical-thinking abilities. Capable of prioritizing projects and thriving in fast-paced environments.
