Until Filled The Amity Regional School District is seeking an information technology specialist to support school staff and students as they use technology that benefits learning, instruction, and school operations. This individual will collaborate with school and I.T. staff each day as we continue our use of technology in curriculum delivery and will also support the continued operation of software and hardware tools. The position is an important resource and advocate for enhancing the use of computers in our schools and classrooms.
Title : Technology Specialist
Reports to : Computer Information Systems Manager
Terms of Employment : Twelve Months
Location : Amity Middle School-Bethany
Compensation : As Contracted
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; working knowledge of procedures, policies, and precedents of the school district.
- Experience with Windows Operating Systems in a network environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Anti-Spyware, Antivirus, and other computer security applications.
- Able to troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of Smart Technologies and Promethean products.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot a variety of Technology equipment.
- Ability to deal effectively with students, certified and classified staff.
- Valid CT Driver's License and reliable transportation
Technical Responsibilities
- Manage software installations, add, and remove workstations from a domain, backup computers, and maintenance of computers.
- Install, and update variety of software applications.
- Troubleshoot and repair end-user software and hardware issues.
- Upgrade workstation operating system software.
- Identify hardware failures so that equipment under warrantee can be repaired or replaced.
- Create computer Images and restore computers from an image.
- Setup and install of SMART Technologies and Promethean products.
- Install and trouble shoot of classroom projectors.
- Must be available after hours to record Board of Ed meetings and special events as required.
- Must be available to assist District Offices on special assignments related to setup and operation of Technology equipment.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Technology or the Computer Information Systems Manager.
