LCHC serves the entire population of Lāna'i, with a special emphasis on those living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level and the underinsured or uninsured. The center provides services in a culturally sensitive manner, offering translation services when needed, and ensures that no one is denied care due to an inability to pay.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, LCHC accepts all insurances, helping patients navigate their coverage. Located centrally in Lāna'i City, at 333 Sixth St., LCHC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ensuring that comprehensive healthcare is accessible to all residents, reflecting the island's unique history and diversity.
Role Overview
The Information Technology (IT) Specialist plays a key role in providing comprehensive network administration and information Technology Support services to all Health Center personnel. This position works with and is the primary contact for our externally contracted IT Support team. The IT Specialist will be the primary designee to monitor and maintain data environment, all internal information systems network infrastructure, WAN (Wide Area Network) processes and provide support for stand-alone personal computers at multiple locations. be the primary delegate for the IT issue and ticketing system; further, in conjunction with external IT vendor(s), be the primary liaison responsible for entire tasks and duties relating to development and administration of LANs; Internet connections; policies and procedures; purchase, installation and operation of hardware and software for computers, train LCHC personnel to use and maintain computers, voice mail, phone equipment and various application software packages, such as Microsoft's Office Professional Suite.
A primary job function is to oversee the delivery of new IT capabilities through a structured approach using common project management methodologies and tools, along with overseeing the estimating and assignment of enhancement requests and work orders.
Qualifications
Two year degree or Bachelors degree in computer science or related field preferred. Strong knowledge and experience with PC hardware and software technology as well as file interchange, shared network resources, Internet access, and email. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and colleagues. Detail oriented, analytic, and good organizational skills and aptitude for enterprise computing concepts. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality protocols. Experience installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting PC hardware and software in a Microsoft environment.
