PSI is looking for an accomplished individual for the role of Managing Director. As the Southern Africa Managing Director, you will drive business growth, enhance digital innovations, and ensure operational excellence for the Southern Africa business. This role combines strategic leadership, entrepreneurship, partnership identification and management, stakeholder engagement, and sourcing and managing investment into the South African business.
What You'll Do
- Business Development & Growth: Manage and expand Viya Health in Southern Africa by identifying new product opportunities, impactful partnerships, and digital innovations that drive both business and social impact. Develop and execute multi-year business plans, own financial performance and P&L management to consistently deliver on results, and support regional operations, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives.
- Strategy & Execution: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop a cohesive digital ecosystem and lead the activation and development of a cohesive Viya Health business in Southern Africa. Manage online spending to achieve business goals. Oversee the design and implementation of strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and engagement across all channels.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Representation: Position the organization within the broader Southern Africa community by identifying and managing partnerships, seeking funding, and integrating evidence into business model design. Represent Viya Health to investors, governments, funders, and other stakeholders, ensuring a balance between profitability and social impact.
- Operational Efficiency & Governance: Lead the development of efficient systems to support timely delivery and quality programming. Oversee financial, administrative, and logistical resources, ensuring adherence to standards, policies, and strategic objectives.
- Performance Measurement & Reporting: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the entire Viya Health business. Gather data and insights to measure performance against strategic objectives, optimizing plans to improve business outcomes.
What You'll Bring
- Education & Experience: University Degree in Commerce or Marketing, a postgraduate qualification will be advantageous (Hons or MBA). 15 years’ experience of which at least 5 years should be managing a P&L. Multi-country management experience preferred. Must have FMCG / Consumer Health background.
- Personal Attributes: Entrepreneurial minded self-starter, high level decision maker, proactive, self-driven, passionate, excellent people skills, emotional maturity, problem-solving skills, and leadership qualities.
