Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Controller, located in the East Valley, is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions at the manufacturing plant. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making to drive profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cost accounting, inventory, and internal controls within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the plant’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial health and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to corporate leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead cost accounting activities, including standard cost development, cost variance analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Oversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, material usage, and overhead allocations.
- Prepare financial statements complying with GAAP standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Work closely with plant management, operations, and supply chain teams to drive cost efficiencies and financial discipline.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities within plant operations and recommend action plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial planning, and reporting in manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
