This role has ownership of the full James Hardie product portfolio (Interior & Exterior products). The role requires strong strategic retail account management and leadership skills to develop and execute tactics that will drive mutual growth for James Hardie and Lowe's.
The role requires a high level of coordination, including Marketing, Inventory Planning, Field Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to drive top line and bottom line growth in line with joint business plan goals.
Directly lead a growing team of sales professionals that includes national account managers and associate account managers. The role will indirectly influence and partner with dedicated inventory analysts, marketing managers, and field sales professionals.
This role reports to the Head of Retail and is a key contributor to the James Hardie leadership team.
Position Responsibilities
Grow sales revenue through best in class retail fundamentals and execution.
Build strategic relationships at both corporate (merchant and Director level) and regional operations management levels that enable integrated partnerships.
Develop and implement long-range omnichannel growth plan that is integrated and coordinated with Lowe's longer range objectives for our categories.
Leverage and lead others in using forward looking category and shopper insights to develop strategies that will drive predictable and sustainable growth.
Understand key business metrics for both companies to deliver mutually beneficial tactical adjustments to meet joint business plan targets.
Develop and utilize dashboards to track progress against key metrics and execute at the highest level within the retail organization.
Leverage data and relationships to identify both short and long range risks and opportunities.
Develop sales team skills in retail fundamentals, business insights, and 4 P’s (product, pricing, placement, promotion).
Strong peer to peer leadership with James Hardie finance, marketing, product management, supply chain, and HR to drive full cross functional execution and delivery against our strategy and tactical initiatives.
Develop and implement specific business initiatives that allow for effective execution of James Hardie’s broader organizational strategies.
Evaluate the Company’s existing product plan and identify initiatives that will drive sales through all relevant retailer channels.
Ensure the James Hardie Value Proposition is understood within our retail partners’ businesses by shaping the Company’s strategy/message via communication to key customer leaders and shoppers.
Implement Strategic Planning, joint revenue-generation solutions, and sales support programs.
Ensure that JH management is engaged and has a strategic relationship with key Executive leaders.
Provide strategic oversight on changing/emerging trends within retail that impact the larger JH business.
Lead category management expertise to Lowe's as it relates to product assortments, merchandising, marketing, and business trends in the James Hardie Product Portfolio.
Communicate with all levels of the JH organization, business partners, and customers to research marketplace trends and initiate marketing plans.
Facilitate regular communication within the JH organization to ensure that JH leadership is informed on current Lowe's initiatives.
Learn, understand and communicate customer positions and Retail Industry trends to determine how they impact Company products and strategies.
Coordinate with the Company’s support departments on customer administrative items including contracts, payments, pricing, collection, system access and administration, POG maintenance, and marketing activation.
Work with internal partners to clearly define customer projects and ensure that projects have a strong business case and defined customer benefit.

Demonstrated history of new product introduction with big box/retail customers.
Ability to offer advanced solutions based on collected, summarized, and analyzed data.
Demonstrated ability to apply creativity and latitude in identifying new projects, trends, and processes.
Proven track record directing external resources to manage and execute effectively.
Results-oriented to ensure delivery of appropriate products and services in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion.
Education/Experience:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing preferred).
10 or more years’ experience in sales product management or business development.
3 or more years’ experience as a manager.
