HR Assistant
Job Description – Journeys Family of Serivces
Reports to: HR Director(s)
Overview:
The HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by ensuring personnel compliance, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and maintaining accurate employee records. This role provides essential clerical and administrative support, contributes to a welcoming office environment, and ensures regulatory and organizational standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the hiring process, including background checks, new hire packets, I-9 verification, and orientation scheduling.
- Maintain and audit employee files (digital and physical) to ensure compliance.
- Assist Regional Team with the scheduling of training activities.
- Provide clerical support: scanning, faxing, filing, mailing, and managing phone calls.
- Update HR boards and track employee changes via Monday.com or staff lists.
- Support termination processes, including exit interviews and paperwork.
- Assist in organizing performance reviews and managing benefits documentation.
- Communicate hiring and separation updates with appropriate departments.
- Maintain office supply inventory and a professional office environment.
Requirements:
- Prior administrative or HR support experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems is a plus.
