Job Description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for ensuring that our finished product is moved within our warehouse in a safe and efficient manner. Forklift duties include but are not limited to driving a forklift in a freezer warehouse, ensuring safety of equipment being used, transporting finished product in the warehouse, pulling finished product for loading of trailers, preparing trailers for loading, and loading trailers adhering to proper procedure. Ensuring facility maintenance through good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications

Key Accountabilities

1. Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
2. Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
3. Ability to drive forklifts including stand-up, sit-down, hi-lift, and tandems
4. Ability to work in a cold environment for long periods of time
5. Excellent attention to detail
6. Ability to move up to 75 lbs
7. Basic math skills
8. Basic knowledge of computers

Skills & Experience

1. Knowledge of forklift safety and troubleshooting
2. Knowledge of proper forklift loading procedures
3. Ability to understand the effects of product damage
4. Ability to solve problems independently
5. Must be well organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
6. Ability to work individually as well as with others as a team at all levels
7. Knowledge of GMP’s
8. Ability to be PIT Certified
