Overview
As an RN in the Children's Program, you will provide and coordinate medical services for students within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements: Valid MA RN nursing license, 2 years relevant experience preferred. Experience with child and adolescent psychiatric/special needs preferred. A valid driver's license. The ability to handle children in crisis safely, with compassion.
Schedule: 32 hours a week.
Compensation: $45.63 per hour.
Weekend differential $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 7am Saturday through 6:59am Monday!
Key Responsibilities: • Monitor daily health needs of students. • Coordinate all appointments for preventive, specialized and emergency health care. • Coordinate and monitor medication use: ordering, administration and documentation per DPH regulations and Agency polices and procedures. • Monitor medical treatment to ensure follow-through via program staff. • Liaison to families, referring agencies and community resources as it relates to the medical needs of students. • Coordinate and facilitate weekly psychiatric consults/medication reviews in the absence of the Director of Nursing. • Maintain student medical records and prepare required program reports. • Conduct Medication distribution training to non medical staff as per DPH guidelines, on an as-needed basis, but no less than on a yearly basis. • Provide in-service trainings and medical orientation in health education and human sexuality. • Participate in intake/discharge planning. • Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies. • Participate in program development, implementation and evaluation. • Other duties as requested by Program Director or Director of Nursing. • Any work assigned shall be related to the Employee's normal duties, except for occasional emergencies.
