Job Overview
Lone Star Circle of Care seeks a dedicated endocrinologist to establish specialty care for FQHC patients and the community. The candidate should have expertise in endocrine conditions, embracing a patient-centric approach. Responsibilities include outpatient diagnosis and treatment of conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, and more.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, treat, and refer outpatient patients, managing conditions typically handled by an Endocrinologist.
- Provide comprehensive outpatient endocrinology care.
- Diagnose and manage complex endocrine conditions.
- Develop personalized treatment plans.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as endocrine testing, ultrasounds, and biopsies.
- Collaborate with primary care and other healthcare professionals.
- Implement population health strategies and educate patients.
- Engage in quality improvement, research, and health equity initiatives.
- Complete medical documentation promptly.
Additional Duties
- Provide staff training and participate in educational activities.
- Ensure quality medical care and participate in audits.
- Supervise support staff and meet productivity and quality metrics.
- Attend meetings and contribute to organizational committees.
Compliance & Qualifications
- Maintain licensure, board certification, DEA, and BLS certifications.
- Participate in ongoing education and credentialing.
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep knowledge of endocrinology principles and practices.
- Proficiency in diagnostic and management tools for endocrine disorders.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Texas medical license, MD or DO degree, completed Internal Medicine residency.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
- Current DEA and BLS certifications.
Preferred Experience
- Two years outpatient endocrinology experience.
- Experience with diverse patient populations and EMR systems.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
