$110,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Loring is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a proven interest in building design and sound knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals. The incumbent will work in our Princeton, New Jersey office 5 days per week. Role & Responsibilities: The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: Design mechanical systems including heating, cooling, heat rejection, air and water distribution, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and controls. Perform system design calculations, load calculations and some Energy modeling. Select equipment for use in building systems. Prepare contract drawings detailing the designed systems. Report writing and specification preparation. Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects. Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them. Manage a small project, work area or technical skill set, monitor quality of work, and serve as a client liaison. Assist in the procurement of work; manage multi-disciplinary project teams including client relations and team motivation. Qualifications & Education Requirements: A baccalaureate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution. Minimum of 8 years professional experience in commercial/institutional building projects. 8+ years’ experience designing HVAC systems for buildings. Strong Revit capabilities. Previous Healthcare experience highly desirable. Strong fundamental understanding of national building codes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite. PE license highly desirable. Strong Analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking. Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment. Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both verbally and in writing. The salary range for this position will be between $110,000- $150,000. This is a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills, licensure, location and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.
