The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor oversees the processing of materials entering and leaving the plant. This role evaluates and improves shipping and receiving processes, monitors staff performance, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulations. The supervisor manages record-keeping for damaged or defective items and resolves discrepancies in quantities or weights promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure thorough checking of all materials against vendor invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, and other relevant documentation to guarantee accuracy in shipments and receipts.
- Oversee the record-keeping of damaged or defective items and address discrepancies in quantities or weights, ensuring prompt resolution and accurate reporting.
- Accurately record the time, date, quantity, source, and destination of all materials shipped or received, maintaining up-to-date and organized logs for traceability.
- Evaluate the efficiency of existing shipping and receiving processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing procedural improvements to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- Monitor and track staff performance against organizational objectives, providing feedback and support.
- Review, maintain, and audit records of all shipping and receiving processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as inventory management and logistics, to streamline operations and enhance communication regarding shipping and receiving schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all shipping and receiving activities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Bachelor's
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience.
