WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE:
- Plan and perform duties involved in design, development, and continuous improvement of production machinery, equipment, and facilities.
- Review new product designs for integration onto the production floor.
- Assist in maintaining nVent’s compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Advise maintenance personnel in solving equipment problems and machine repairs.
- Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Lead projects by developing comprehensive plans, managing resources, costs, benefits, and schedules, and ensuring project goals are met.
- Collaborate with operators, team leaders, and managers to optimize process layouts and line balancing.
- Utilize lean tools, leadership, and communication skills to lead kaizen activities and foster continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of the annual business unit management system implementation plan to reduce waste and improve safety.
- Support capital expenditure requests and manage their implementation using basic cost justification principles.
- Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and respond to Performance Issues (PPIs).
- Engage with production, purchasing, and management on daily plant operations.
- Develop tooling, fixtures, gauging, and instructional aids to improve processes.
- Develop and revise standardized work based on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support maintenance work order requests to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office, and MRP systems (JD Edwards preferred).
- Basic knowledge or project experience in PLC, Electronics, Hydraulics, Welding, and Robotics.
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects.
- Experience with DMAIC/PDCA methodologies.
- Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Preferred experience in robotics, automation, progressive dies, stamping, PLC controls, or Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
