Overview
A successful recruiter will collaborate with project and department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. They should also be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals. The ideal recruiter will have an HR background, combined with experience in screening, interviewing and assessing candidates. The Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, recruiting, interviewing, verifying the skills of potential employees, and discussing compensation and benefits with potential employees up to final offer. Assist HR as needed with onboarding, craft training and development, as well as performance management.
FUNCTIONAL DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Familiar with ERP software, Foundation.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- 2-4 years exempt and non-exempt recruiting experience in full life-cycle environment, including management of multiple high-volume roles simultaneously
- Minimum 2 years’ experience recruiting in construction industry environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
- Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on industry standards and the needs of the organization.
- Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc.
- Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
- Schedules and performs interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
- Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Maintain all aspects of M&D Mechanical’s social media accounts.
- Maintain all aspects of M&D’s craft training program.
- Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the rest of the team
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
- Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
- Performs other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL INVOLVEMENT:
Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
MENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
Employee may be required to do the following: following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked, following oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
WORK ENVIROMENT FACTORS:
- Location: industrial construction sites and/or office environment
- Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways
- Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominately indoor climate; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc., potential exposure to chemical substances.
