We're seeking a dynamic and hands-on leader to oversee mechanical maintenance operations in a fast-paced industrial setting. In this role, you’ll lead a team of skilled tradespeople to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance execution. You'll be an essential driver in improving reliability and supporting production through planned outages and daily maintenance activities. What You’ll Do · Direct and support a crew of mechanical technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard. · Accurately review and approve employee time records to support efficient payroll processing. · Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to coordinate repairs, prevent downtime, and keep equipment running smoothly. · Partner with engineering, contractors, and vendors to complete maintenance tasks, upgrades, and improvement projects. · Own the weekly maintenance schedule—ensuring all work is executed safely and effectively, including proper lockout/tagout procedures. · Champion a culture of safety and reliability by following established processes and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. · Take part in initiatives that enhance workplace safety, product quality, environmental compliance, and equipment performance. · Keep all maintenance systems up to date, including documenting work, entering service requests, and ensuring SOPs are current. · Communicate regularly and clearly across all levels of the organization to ensure alignment on goals and activities. What You Bring · Solid understanding of mechanical systems and equipment reliability practices. · Strong leadership and team development skills, especially in environments with hourly or union-represented employees. · Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and support problem-solving in real time. · Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to foster collaboration across departments. · Proficiency with maintenance software (CMMS) and general office tools such as Word and Excel. · A self-starter mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure. · Experience with performance improvement systems such as reliability-centered maintenance is a plus. Preferred Background · A degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field is ideal. · Alternatively, 8+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment may qualify.
