Collaborate across business functions to develop and implement proactive PR strategies to grow the Mercury brand. Serve as the primary media liaison for basketball operations. Efficiently and proactively respond to, manage, and facilitate media inquiries for players and coaches including at practices, games, shootaround, and appearances. Prepare materials including PR plans, press releases, media advisories, pitches, briefs, and talking points. Manage the development of basketball communications materials including seasonal media guide, game notes and statistical information, and team records. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local and national media, team broadcast talent, broadcast partners, and WNBA PR staff. Travel with the team to manage media relations and gameday duties at away games. What We Need From Our Senior Manager, Mercury Communications Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as travel in the position is required for away games. Deep understanding of basketball statistics and terminology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience/ Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, or public relations. Minimum of 7 years of public relations/communications experience, preferably with a professional sports team or league.
