Parsippany, NJ Job Description: In this critical role, you will be responsible for advising on a broad range of compliance and regulatory matters across Midea’s Business, with a focus on upholding Midea’s commitment to integrity, transparency, and operational excellence. You will work cross-functionally with legal, compliance, audit, and business leadership to develop, implement, and enhance compliance programs that support sustainable growth and mitigate legal and reputational risks. Responsibilities: Provide legal advice on compliance issues including anti-corruption (FCPA, UK Bribery Act), trade controls, competition/antitrust, data privacy, and corporate governance. Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Midea’s compliance policies, training, monitoring, and reporting systems. Investigate and respond to alleged violations of company policy or the law, including conducting internal investigations and coordinating with internal audit or external counsel as needed. Collaborate with business units and corporate teams to ensure adherence to global compliance frameworks and regional regulations. Partner with the compliance function to design and deliver training sessions and internal communications to raise compliance awareness. Monitor regulatory trends and advise leadership on emerging risks and potential business impact. Participate in due diligence and integration planning for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures from a compliance perspective. Represent MIDEA before regulatory authorities and manage responses to government inquiries, audits, and investigations as necessary. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree from an accredited institution. Licensed to practice law in at least one relevant jurisdiction. Minimum 5 years of legal experience with a strong focus on compliance, either in-house or at a law firm. Prior experience in a multinational corporation or heavily regulated industry preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of global anti-corruption laws, trade regulations, and data privacy laws. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities. High level of integrity and a proactive, collaborative approach. The listed compensation reflects the minimum base for this role. We are open to exceeding this range based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
