The
MRP
Intern
will procure and plan materials for specific production stations, in line with MRP system requirements. The role will monitor and track top running items to allow forecasting ensuring system models are maintained using business intelligence and forecast information. Also support factory productions by completing various activities related to job paperwork, cycle counting, inventory transactions and material handling in accordance with established schedules, priorities, and processes. Other duties include: Raise Purchase orders from the MRP system ensuring timely placement and delivery of components in line with production planning requirements. Expedite and reschedule open purchase orders to suit production planning requirements. Review historical data including sales trends, research demand drivers, material on-time delivery, and commodity spending within dedicated production cells. Coordinate research data to identify significant variances. Share, communicate and report on variances to both internal and external supplychainsn. Interact with productioplannerser and sales to understand demand forecast drivers. Use and maintain MRP data as the primary planning system tool. Provide input in developing departmental strategies for inventory on existing items, new product introduction aphase-outsuts. Reporting gathered information within the production meeting environment. Create statistical reports:
Gather, analyze and validate data. Share data with relevant departments and external suppliers.
Improve relationships among production planners, sales, production supervisors and quality which will lead to effective knowledge sharing and optimizing the forecast to better guide the company. Execute systems and methods to continually improve forecasts allowing the company to better anticipate customer needs. Execute with excellence in the area of stock and demand replenishment providing feedback to the supply chain on risks regarding replenishment levels and demand. Perform daily cycle counts on items determined by ABC analysis Perform due diligence root-cause analysis of any/all inventory discrepancies Make any/all adjustments within the Plex ERP system to ensure inventory accuracy Develop/maintain inventory accuracy metrics Other duties as assigned To qualify for this role you must meet the following:
Currently enrolled in any related program: Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain Management, or Business Excellent verbal/written communication Maintain and follow all training requirements Understand and follow all quality, safety and environmental processes and procedures Use required safety equipment Proficient in Word, and Excel and Maintaining and following all training requirements.
