Job Title: Accountant Location: Boston, MA Hybrid (3 days in-office per week required) Duration: 12 Months Pay Range: $37.50/hr on W2
Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of approximately 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the franchise by serving as the guardian of the Firms books and records and by contributing to firm-wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with various industry and government regulators and serves as the conduit of financial information to the external investment community.
Position Background
This role resides within Investment Management Finance (IM Finance), a team dedicated to supporting a leading global asset manager across public and private markets. IM Finance team members are involved in accounting, finance, and process transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will join the Distribution Finance Team located in Boston. This team is responsible for the management and oversight of distribution expense processes for the Companys broker-dealer, including: Expense account ownership Compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 internal controls Identification of risks and implementation of controls Monthly and quarterly reconciliations
Primary Responsibilities: Support the month-end accounting process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports Analyze financial data and provide variance analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement Ensure internal control practices comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, internal policies, and other applicable regulations Provide support for internal and external audits (interim and year-end) Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting
Desired: 12 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services industry Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Solid understanding of internal controls Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with SAP general ledger and Hyperion Essbase (a plus) Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
