Position Information:
Are you looking for a temporary job this summer? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking several Office Assistants to work at the Great New York State Fair. As an Office Assistant 1, you may provide clerical support to the Agriculture and Competitions Department, Sponsorship Department, or the Administration Office. These are full-time positions offering 37.5 hours/week, working Monday-Friday. They are represented by CSEA, offering a competitive pay rate of $17.35/hour. This is a fantastic chance to gain valuable experience in an office environment and make a real difference!
Your duties may include data entry, document creation, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and scheduling meetings. You must be available to work from May to October 2025 or June to October 2025. This means you'll have the chance to work in a professional and comfortable environment with ample free parking all summer! As a New York State employee, you could potentially qualify to participate in the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF)! The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan and while working full-time for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets or another eligible employer.
Minimum Qualifications:
While there are no minimum qualifications necessary for this position, we are looking for individuals with a passion for serving customers. The preferred candidates will have strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail, the ability to maintain professionalism, and possess strong organizational and telephone skills.
