To effectively achieve the core objectives for the customer and the business, Unison must achieve and maintain premier operations, with asset uptime targeted above 97%. Central to achieving this world-class targeted asset up-time is a competent and highly trained staff that employs knowledge of effective operation practices, power systems knowledge, and a massive amount of data /analytics to monitor sites leading to proactive prediction and resolution of problems. The staff member must be proficient with all aspects of the combined heat and power / microgrid systems, which are some combinations of natural gas-powered units, generators, and heat exchangers all precisely controlled and coupled with a micro-grid arrangement that works seamlessly with the facility and the utility.
Position Description -
Unison Energy – Technician preferred skills.
· Experience as an operator preferred
· Basic knowledge of engine, gensets, and micro-grids preferred
· Use of mechanical tools, electrical tools required
· Ability to read a one-line electrical diagram preferred
· Mechanical troubleshooting and aptitude to execute technician work, when trained
· Can follow instructions and has good communication skills
· IT skills capable of using smart phones, computers, software programs (e.g. Excel). Work Order tool
· Positive attitude, Self – starter, hard worker
· Can work in a team environment
Energy System Considerations
Unison Energy designs their microgrids with baseloads covered by cogeneration systems and can further integrate technologies like solar, storage, and EV charging. During utility outages, our microgrids enter island mode and power up to 100% of the facility’s load
