Are you passionate about diagnosing and treating digestive disorders? Opelousas General Health System is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Gastroenterologist to join our skilled team. Residents/Fellows are encouraged to apply early!
Employed Physician Incentives:
- Malpractice - Paid by Hospital
- CME Allowance ($4,000/year)
- 30 Days of Paid Time Off, 5 days of Extended Illness Time and 5 CME days per year
- Retirement – 3 components
- 457b-tax deferred
- Social Security Replacement (7.65% of Physician's Salary)
- Hospital Contributes 5% of Physician's Salary into Retirement Account
- Health Benefits - 1st of the month following start date.
Position Highlights:
- Focus on general Gastroenterology
- Clinic schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with a half day on Friday
- Will support J1 Visa candidates
- Strong support from collaborative specialties such as general surgery
- Hospitalists onsite

OGHS is a 181-bed full service medical center as complete and as inclusive as any referral hospital in the state. The Main Campus, South Campus, and Sunset Campus facilities are in St. Landry Parish. OGHS is the second largest employer in Opelousas with over 1,000 employees.
