SUPERVISOR : Options Homeschool Program Principal
SUMMARY : Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of assigned site and service area for the Options Homeschool Program. Recruit and coordinate the work of teachers and educational support personnel. Recruit new students and increase program within the service area. Coordinate registration, student assessment, and regular communication with families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The following tasks describe the basic functions of the job. The following frequencies and percentage of time spent are approximations only. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Options Homeschool Program, including opening and closing of the assigned site, coordinating logistics with appropriate building personnel, and meeting demand for information technology assets. Maintain a safe and orderly learning and work environment. [Daily, 30%] Supervise, hire, and coordinate the work of, on average, 15 employees at assigned site. Coordinate the timely completion of employee attendance, time sheets, and other documentation of daily activities at the assigned site. [Daily, 25%] Audit and review registrar documentation, which includes student registration, withdrawal, attendance, schedules, grades, and report cards. Ensure compliance with all applicable recordkeeping laws. Provide confidential information and documents to Options Homeschool Program leadership as requested. [Daily, 10%] Collaborate with mental health staff regarding the wellbeing of students and families, including administering 504 plans and meeting other special needs. [Daily, 10%] Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about Cherry Creek School District's and the Options Homeschool Program's philosophy, policies, and meetings. Maintain the Options Homeschool Program website as needed. [Weekly, 10%] Attend all coordinators meetings and accountability meetings. [Monthly, 5%] Coordinate the Options Homeschool Program student testing program. [Annually, 5%] Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. [Daily, 5%] MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's degree in education, educational leadership, or school administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years of experience in public education. Basic knowledge of typical office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, email, etc. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office. Advanced knowledge of Colorado homeschool laws. Basic skills in human relations, leadership focused on learning, and organizational theory. Basic skills in public relations, conflict resolution, and problem solving. Intermediate verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate interpersonal relations skills. Intermediate organizational skills. Intermediate skills in dealing with students and staff with diverse needs at various levels. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume work environment. Ability to be flexible and patient and adjust to changing priorities. Ability to effectively motivate and supervise people. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator. Ability to promote and follow the Board of Education policies, District policies, and building and department procedures, protocols, and guidelines. Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment. Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire. REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS :
All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.
N/A PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Three (3) years of experience in school administration, school leadership, teaching, or related. Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Colorado Administrator/Principal License. Colorado teaching license. Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement. Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT :
Moderate physical effort (lifting up to 25 pounds). Occasional bending and reaching. Occasional standing and walking. Occasional lifting, pulling, and pushing. Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision. Visual concentration, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Eye/hand coordination. May occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Usually a moderate noise level. Normal school district environment.

Preference will be given to candidates with a current Colorado teacher license (in any content area) and teaching experience.
