This is a remote position that will require occasional travel to our hotels located in California and Utah. The ideal candidate will live in the Pacific or Mountain time zone. This is an exempt position that reports to the Regional Director of Finance.
The salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000.

Review all revenues (hotel, food and beverage, etc.) and post in the general ledger. Assist with financial statement preparation, month-end closing, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable, daily revenue and cash reconciliations and other related finance projects. Oversee accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines, including invoice verification, payment processing and vendor inquiry. Reconcile Hotel, Sales and Use Tax and prepare Tax Exemption spreadsheet for review for Controller. Oversee all functions of accounts receivable - maintain AR systems, review, and reconcile daily hotel receivables and group master billings. Prepare and conduct Monthly Credit Meeting with GM and Controller. Maintain strong communication with vendors and resolve any disputes and billing discrepancies. Work closely with room reservations and front office teams to ensure proper procedures are followed for online travel agency reservations. Work closely with Sales team to ensure group billing is correct and all advance deposits are collected as stated in Contracts. Attend BEO/Resume and hotel operations meetings. Ensure property accounting expectations and management needs are addressed regarding all accounting matters. Oversight of internal control functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory controls, etc. Ensure compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Assist and counsel operations leaders in the interpretation and analysis of financial data, recommending courses of action to maximize hotel profitability. Prepare annual plan, projections, and budgets. Influence and collaborate with hotel operations and shared services teams (sales, marketing, revenue management, people & culture), taking ownership for desired results through partnership. 3-5 years of related experience in accounting. Hotel accounting preferred. Proficient in Microsoft applications. Knowledge of hotel PMS system, hotel accounting system, and hotel sales system. Hospitality expertise highly preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Highly developed problem solving and prioritization abilities. Strong organizational and people skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Team-first mindset – a desire to collaborate and share information.
