About the Role:
PMCS Group is seeking an experienced Constructability Review Specialist to support the preconstruction phase of public and educational facility construction projects. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Construction Administration, Project Supervision, or Project Management, with a focus on reviewing construction documents, identifying potential issues, and ensuring project efficiency from design to completion.
Required Qualifications:
- 15 years of full-time professional experience with an Architecture degree, including:
- 10 years acting as a Construction Administrator on public/educational facility projects with full responsibility for supporting projects.
- 5 years as a Designer or equivalent experience.
- OR 15 years of professional experience as a Project Superintendent or Project Manager on public/educational facility construction projects, with at least one project having a value of over $30M or combined cumulative projects over $400M.
- OR A minimum of two (2) years of college-level coursework and five (5) additional years of professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong ability to work quickly, efficiently, and confidently.
- Proficiency in writing RFCs, reviewing submittals, and handling change orders.
- Proficient in using MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, and other relevant software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative during the preconstruction phase.
- Help define and review the Project Requirement Document scope of work, including schedule and interim housing requirements.
- Provide value engineering recommendations during the early stages of design.
- Review and comment on design deliverables, identifying inconsistencies, ambiguities, conflicts, errors, and omissions to reduce RFIs and change orders.
- Ensure that documents are properly coordinated between design disciplines to ensure consistency.
- Prepare and deliver a comprehensive constructability review of pre-bid construction documents.
- Work closely with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative to coordinate efforts in a collaborative and efficient manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the project’s success.
