Overview
Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose ocular conditions. Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments based on patient needs. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions. Educate patients on proper eye care, including the use of contact lenses and protective eyewear. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care. Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies. Manage dry eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, amongst other common ocular conditions. Proficient in medical terminology related to optometry and ophthalmology. Strong knowledge of optical systems, including lenses and frames. Familiarity with medical coding practices for accurate billing and insurance purposes. Understanding of physiology as it relates to vision and eye health. Ability to apply aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures. Excellent patient care skills, ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients and address their needs. Competence in managing medical records with attention to detail. Solid understanding of anatomy related to the eye and visual system.
