At Morrison Foerster, we recognize that exceptional talent is key to our continued success. We are seeking a Partner Recruiting Manager to lead firmwide lateral partner and of counsel recruiting and onboarding, ensuring a seamless and best-in-class experience for candidates and firm leadership.
This role is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in shaping the firm’s future, working closely with firm leadership, practice groups, and business professionals to drive growth through targeted partner hiring.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Partner Recruiting Manager, you will oversee the entire partner recruitment lifecycle, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and a strong candidate experience across all geographies. This includes:
Partner Recruitment Strategy & Execution
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for lateral partner and of counsel candidates, from sourcing and interviews to due diligence and onboarding.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the partner hiring experience and ensure a consistent approach across all offices.
- Collaborate with firm leadership, the Director of Attorney Recruiting, and the Chief Legal Talent Officer to align recruiting strategies with the firm’s business objectives.
- Develop metrics and reporting tools to track the success of hiring and retention efforts, delivering insights to firm leadership.
Candidate Experience & Engagement
- Serve as a trusted resource for candidates, sponsor partners, and firm leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the recruiting process.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with external search firms and key industry contacts to ensure MoFo is attracting top-tier talent.
- Partner with firm leadership and hiring sponsors to establish clear and consistent candidate evaluation criteria.
Onboarding Talent
- Develop comprehensive onboarding and orientation plans for incoming lateral partner and of counsel hires to ensure a seamless transition into the firm.
- Coordinate pre-arrival meetings and post-hire integration support, working closely with internal teams to ensure new hires are set up for success.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to three junior team members, ensuring operational excellence in recruiting processes.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Practice Administration, Business Development, Learning & Development, and Firm Management, to support the strategic growth of the firm.
- Lead and execute cross-functional recruiting projects that enhance firmwide efficiency and effectiveness.
ABOUT YOU
You are a strategic, results-oriented recruiting professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced law firm environment.
Bachelor’s degree plus 5-7 years of experience in law firm attorney recruiting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior experience with partner recruiting and a deep understanding of lateral hiring processes.
Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with firm leadership, practice groups, and external recruiters.
Ability to analyze data and trends, developing insights that drive strategic decision-making.
High attention to detail with exceptional project management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office(Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and applicant tracking systems.
Supervisory experience and a team-oriented mindset, with the ability to lead, coach, and develop junior team members.

Where required by law, salary ranges are stated below. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.
New York, San Francisco salary range: $140k to $175k
